What is a home X-ray?
A home X-ray is taken with a portable digital X-ray device at the patient's bedside. The image appears within seconds, its quality is checked on the spot and it is sent securely to a radiologist for reporting.

Chest X-ray at home
A chest X-ray is the most common home X-ray. It is requested for suspected pneumonia in bedridden patients, COPD and heart failure follow-up, persistent cough and shortness of breath. The patient stays in bed, ideally half-sitting, during the exposure.
Is a home X-ray safe?
A chest X-ray uses one of the lowest radiation doses of all imaging tests. During exposure, other people leave the room or keep a safe distance and protective aprons are used when needed. X-rays are not taken in possible pregnancy without a doctor's assessment.
